titleOfInvention DRUG
abstract The medicaments contain as active substances (a) a triazole cpd. of formula (I), and (b) a symptomatically active agent for the treatment of arthritis or rheumatic disorders: where R is H or a gp. of formula (Ia) in which R1, R2 and R3 are H, acyl (pref. (Ia) acetyl or propionyl) or phosphoric acid residues the further acidic functions of which may be present in salt form and/or be esterified in such a way that R1+R2 or R2+R3 signifies a phosphate residue. (I) have no effect on the symptoms of rheumatic or arthritic disease, but have a genuine antiarthritic or antirheumatic effect. ]Symptomatically active agents' (i.e. conventional anti-inflammatory agents) alleviate symptoms but have no fundamental effect on the disease itself. The combination exerts a mutual synergism. Pref. combinations contain (a) 1,2,4-triazole-3-carboxamide or 1-(beta-D-ribofuranosy)-1,2,4-triazole-3-carboxamide and (b) d-2-(6-methoxy-2-naphthyl)-propionic acid (naproxen).
