abstract Phosphorus esters of formula (I) are new: (R=1-6C alky. R1=1-4C alkyl or 1-6c alkoxy. R2=H or 1-3C alkyl. R3=H or di(1-3C alkyl)amino. X=O or S). They are prepd. by reacting (RO)(R1)P(X).SM (M=H or an equiv. of an alkali(ne earth) or NH4) with corresp. 2-halomethyl-3-oxo-1,2,4-triazolophyrimidine. (I) are useful in plant protection, for hygienic applications and in preservation of stored good. They have excellent residual activity on wood and clay and are stable to alkalis on white-washed surfaces. Systemic activity is exemplified for some cpds. A typical cpd., O-ethyl, S- 5-methyl-7-dimethylamino-1,2,4-triazolopyrimidin-2-ylmethyl et- hanethionothiolophosphonate, was prepd. by reacting the K salt of O-ethylethanethionothilophosphonate with the HCl salt of 2-chloromethyl-3-oxo-5-methyl-7-Me2N-1,2,4-triazolopyrimidine.
