titleOfInvention | METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR WASHING GASES ENRICHED WITH SO LOW 2, FLUORINE, NO LOW X, N, CO LOW 2 AND O LOW 2, AND ARE WASHED WITH A WASHING LIQUID, WHICH ARE WASHED FROM WATER WITH ADDITIVES, SUCH AS LIME, EXISTS, AND THE ADDITIONAL SPECIFIC AMOUNTS OF ACIDS AND / OR SALTS ARE ADDED TO THE HALOGEN GROUP |
abstract | The appts. for scrubbing gas enriched in SO2, F2, NOx, N, CO2 and O2, uses a scrubbing liquor contg. () lime and (b) acids and/or salts of the halogen gp., N or P forming soluble Ca salts, which can be exchanged with SO2 in neutral or slightly acid medium and reform water-soluble Ca cpds. in alkaline medium. HCl and/or HCOOH are pref. These compsn. can be used as additives in CasO4 prodn. and (NH4)2SO4 can be produced from them by exchange with NH3, e.g. in liquid form. Carbonate incrustation in the scrubbing equipment is avoided, without detriment to the intensity, e.g. of SO2 absorption. Change of the scrubbing medium allows the prodn. of, e.g. artificial fertiliser (NH4)2SO4 instead of CaSO4. Suitably the appts. includes a scrubber, water separator, ventilator, oxidn. vessel and settler. Additives for CaSO4 prodn. pref. are added to the liquor in the settler and liq. NH3 to the liquor being recycled from the settler to the scrubber. |
