titleOfInvention METHOD AND DEVICE FOR COPYING
abstract Xerographic copying is carried out by (a) impressing in imagewise manner an external electrical field or a mechanical force no a ferro electric or induced ferroelectric material, the ferroelectric polarisation of which can be intensified by such field or force and thereby product an image from ferroelectric polarisation pattern on the surface of the material. (b) producing a change of an external electric field, a mechanical force or a heating for the temporary changing of the intensity of the ferroelectric polarisation, in order to produce an image form charge pattern on the surface of the material corresponding to the ferroelectric polarisation pattern such that a toner pattern is produced by adsorption of toner on the charge pattern. (c) transferring the toner image so obtained to a copy carrier. The process enables a large number of toner images to be produced directly from electrical signals via a single latent charge image, which itself may be produced from electrical signals without an original print out.
