| abstract | The sand box, for use in children's play grounds, nurseries and elsewhere, is esp. made of plastic and comprises a base and a peripheral sidewall. A sieve- type floor (24) is fitted, at a distance (a) from the base (10). There may be a water spray socket connection (32), for the introduction of sprayed water into the intervening space between the two bottoms and there may be a compressed air connection socket (30) for an interior air distribution appliance (26, 28) and a drainage plug connection (36) to carry away excess water. The sidewall (12) may be partly or wholly double-skinned. Sand can easily be kept in a clean and acceptably hygienic condition. |
