| abstract |
The upholstered cushion structure for seats and mattress cores etc. includes an air suspension in a moulded padded body of fibrous material and/or foam wherein at least one part of the peripheral area and the centre zone of the padded body (1) contains at least one independent air chamber system (4, 5) with the air chambers (13, 14) being mounted with reciprocal spacing. Where the padded bodies are covered with a layer of fibrous material and then a textile outer covering, the air chambers provide a support around the edges of the padded body and ensure the seat surface does not tip up. |
