titleOfInvention IGNITION SYSTEM FOR OXYGEN GENERATORS
abstract The pyrotechnical ignition tablet for oxygen generators is readily ignited by rubbing against a safety matchbox. These oxygen generators are used for example in small welding equipment and oxygen is generated by a pyrotechnic charge consisting of a mixture of sodium chlorate and iron which in compact form is not readily ignited. The improved ignition system is simple and safe to handle. The firing mixture is compacted into a tablet, A which carries a pellet B, which is ignited on rubbing against a matchbox. The firing tablet is safely held in the hand and placed in contact with oxygen generating compound. The firing tablet is made from barium or potassium nitrate and mixed with silicon or aluminium and bonded with plastics.
