abstract |
Prepn. of 2-(4-isobutylphenyl) butyric acid and salts is new in which 4-isobutyphenylacetonitrile is converted into its alpha-ethyl deriv. with an ethyl halide in an alkaline medium then hydrolysing the prod. The prod. is an antiinflammatory, analgesic and antipyretic agent, with low toxicity and less likely to cause gastric irritation and ulceration than aspirin. |
