abstract Medical equipment for (in)direct contact with human blood. consisting of 100 pts. PVC with 50-100 pts. polyester type thermoplastic polyurethane which has a softening pt. around 70 degrees C, is chromatographically pure, and is made from (A) a polyester with OH value 50-60 from a >=6 aliphatic diol and a >=6C aliphatic dicarboxylic acid, and (B) an alkylene or polyoxyalkylene diisocyanate. Used as artificial heart valves, blood vessels, transfusion and infusion equipment, and flexible containers for blood. The compsns. contain no toxic substances, e.g., phthalate esters, extractable by blood.
