PROCEDURE TO REDUCE HEAT CONDUCTIVITY FROM INCOMPLETE VACUUM |
abstract |
Heat conductivity because of an incomplete vacuum is reduced by mixing the gas residues with one or more gases having low heat-conductivity. Used in sun-collectors which heat fluids flowing through, in order to convert heat energy to electrical energy. Losses through heat-conduction can be reduced without lowering vacuum to 10-13 Torr, and a vacuum of 0.1 Torr becomes adequate. |
