| abstract |
The instrument rotationally cuts away, pulverizes and aspirates the aqueous humour under a steady infusion of saline and using a cold light beam. The apparatus is built as a hand instrument and the individual operations are switched on or off single handedly without requiring assistance. Pref. the handle (1) has a chamber in it into which fits the motor cartridge as well as the cannula holder. The head of the handle has a conical leaning surface accepting the truncated cone front of the cannula holder, whilst the back of the handle (1) is equipped with a detachable locking device (3). Four longitudinal slots are provided in the handle casing for the suction, infusion, and cold light (39) supply lines as well as for the motor cable. |
