titleOfInvention | MELTING PAN AND PROCESS FOR THE MANUFACTURE OF VACUUM STEEL |
abstract | A ladle in which vacuum steel can be refined by the admission of oxygen has a bottom tap, which can be closed, and a gas inlet at the bottom. The bottom tap is used at the same time as the gas inlet and can be closed by a slider which carries concentric pipes for oxygen and diluent, and a support tube. O2 is introduced deep inside the molten bath, similar to the consumable lances, but is less laborious and costly. It saves the rapid wear of specila nozzle bricks laid in the ladle bottom. |
