titleOfInvention PROCESS FOR THE PRODUCTION OF ALKENYLBENZENE
abstract Improvement on the preparation of alkenylbenzenes by reacting alkylbenzenes with 1,3-butadiene in the presence of an alkali metal catalyst whereby the alkylbenzene is first contacted with the reaction product before reacting with 1,3-butadieno. The contact is pref. made at a point between leaving the reaction zone and the stage where unreacted alkylbenzene is recovered. Particularly by contacting the fresh alkylbenzene with a catalyst after the catalyst separation stage from the reaction product. This method gives improved yield, smaller quantity of catalyst required and simple operation.
