abstract Coating repellant to adhesive substances is prepd. by applying a diorganopolysiloxane, crosslinking agent, accelerator and polyvinylalcohol to a surface, each substance being emulsified or dissolved in water alone or in admixture is claimed, the novelty being that a polyvinylalcohol having degree of hydrolysis 85-90 mol.% and viscosity 16-32 cP (4 wt.% aq. soln. 20 degrees C) is used. The compsn. is esp. useful for coating untreated (kraft) paper which may be used for packaging tacky goods e.g. food, bitumen, greased metal parts, raw rubber etc. or as release paper for pressure sensitive lables, adhesive tapes etc.
