titleOfInvention | METHOD AND DEVICE FOR GENERATING A COLOR IMAGE |
abstract | A colour image is produced by (a) producing a coloured image with a colouring matl. (I) dispersed in a hydrophilic high polymer coating (II); (b) placing an image transfer sheet, consisting of a hydrophobic high polymer (III), at a certain distance (pref. 5-100 mu) from this; (c) introducing an org. solvent (IV) which can dissolve (I) and penetrate the transfer sheet into this gap; and (d) transferring (I) to the transfer sheet, perf. at 40-150 degrees C. The use of a hydrophobic transfer sheet gives a permanent colour copy with improved resistance to water, wear and tearing, good colour reprodn. constant, uniform and bright colours and other advantageous properties. The process is simple and rapid. |
