titleOfInvention | METHOD FOR RECOVERY OF REUSABLE POLYVINYL CHLORIDE FROM PLASTIC WASTE |
abstract | PVC is recovered from plastic waste of article mfr. out of a PVC mixt., opt. contg. fillers and pigments, and a plasticiser mixt., opt. contg. stabilisers and emulsifiers, by (a) contacting waste with a solvent (I) for PVC under formation of a one-phase liq., pref. sepg. insoluble matls. by filtering, centrifuging or settling, and opt. concentrating filtrate, nb) contacting the liq. phase with a non-aq. non-solvent (II) for PVC, where (II) dissolves the plasticiser mixt., (c) sepg. the PVC mixt.-contg. solid phase from the plasticiser mixt.-contg. liq. phase, where (I) and (II) are miscible in one another, and pref. (d) fractionally distilling the liq. phase, to separate the plasticiser mixt. and recover (I) and (II), followed by classifying, washing and drying the plasticiser mixt. obtd. Method is useful for recovery of vinyl chloride polymers, plasticisers and opt. carriers for re-use in plastic compsns. Recovery of components is economical; process allows recovery of carriers, e.g., metal, paper, textiles and partic. woven fabrics; environmental pollution is prevented. |
