A moulded article is produced from a foamed synthetic material by (a) placing a foamable mixt. contg. a polyol, an isocyanate and a blowing agent in a hollow mould, in a sufficient amt. to form a surface layer, (b) when the viscosity of the mixt. is is not 104 cps., applying a press. or is not 500 (1000-3000), g/cm2 by means of a core mould, to form a surface layer, (c) foaming the mixt. to form the surface layer, (d) removing the core mould, (e) adding enough of a mixt. to form a core layer, (f) positioning a core mould in the hollow mould to form a core layer, and (g) foaming the core mixt., when the surface layer and the core layer become bonded together. A smooth surface, free from pores, is obtd. The method is used to produce tough, flexible foams, for goods for exterior use. |
