abstract The phosphates are the reaction prod. of a polyol deriv. of an aliphatic amine and 0, 25-10 wt% (w. r. t. wt. of total compsn). of conc. phosphoric acid. The phosphates are of formula H(OR1)y z Nh3-z (H3PO4)n (a) or H1-m(Or1)y m-N(Q)-R"-N(Q)- OR1)xH pH1-p(H3PO4)t(b)(where R" = 1-20C alkylene. -R-N(Q)-R- or -R-N(Q)-R-N(Q)-R- in which R = 1-6C alkylene; each Q = H or -(OR1)yH; each R1 = 2-6C alkylene: y = 1-20; x = 1.20; z has an av. value of 3; m and p each = 0 or 1 provided >=1 of m and p = 1; n = 0.03-0.5; t = 0.03-1 when (b) is a diamine and t = 0.05-1.5 when (b) is a triamine and t = 0.05-2 when (b) is a tetramine).
