abstract The contract lens is esp. of acrylic glass and the body of the lens has one r more pockets contg. a medicament for external treatment of the eyeball. The pockets may be in the form of pores in the lens material or recesses in the surface of the lens body, pref. on the concave side. The lens is pref. modified in the case of a recess extending over the greater part of its surface to correct any aberration caused by the recess and the medicament. The lens may be a corneo-scleral lens with an annular recess in the region of the corneo-scleral transition.
