titleOfInvention | PROCESS FOR THE PRODUCTION OF AROMATIC THIOCARBONIC ACID AMIDES |
abstract | Prepn. of aromatic thio carboxylic acid amides (I) of formula Ar-C(=S)NH2 (where Ar is an aromatic hydrocarbon gp., or di-phenylene oxide or diphenylene sulphide gp. pref. substd. 1-3 times by alkyl, cycloalkyl, alkylene, alkoxy or alkylthio gps. with 1-18C esp. 1-4C, OH, phenyl, phenyloxy or phenylthio gps. which may be the same or different, the alkyl, cycloalkyl, alkylene, alkoxy or alkylthio gps. themselves being opt. substd. by aliphatic, cycloaliphatic or aromatic gps. and the alkylene gps. opt. being members of multi-, esp. double aromatic ring systems; the total of non-aromatically linked C atoms is not >18 and that a geomatically linked C atoms is not >20) comprises reacting an aromatic hydrocarbon of formula Ar-H with thiocyanic acid or a salt thereof in at least 90% HF. Cpds. (I) are obtained in a single stage process from easily available starting materials (I) are useful in the prepn. of nitriles, amides, carboxylic acids, heterocycles, plant protection agents and pharmaceuticals. |
