FIRE DOOR |
abstract |
The DIN standard requirement for acceptance of fire resistant doors is that on the side away from the fire, along a strip of 10 cm width, the temperature increase should not be found in acceptable. The arrangement is designed to contain any heat build up on the side of the fire by making the door leaf of non-conducting material and shaping the edges of the sheet metal leaf frame so that again it has contact only with non-conducting surfaces. By designing the non-conducting panel in a stepped fashion, it heats up unequally, hereby counteracting a possibility of internal stresses. The non-conducting door panel can be designed as a laminated construction. |
