titleOfInvention | DEVICE FOR FULLY AUTOMATIC, MAINTENANCE-FREE CONTROL OF THE IGNITION SYSTEM OF A GASOLINE ENGINE |
abstract | The device can be mounted inside the fan pulley which has a carrier ring keyed to the boss of the fan pulley. The carrier ring is surrounded by two ferritic rings. For the digital operation, the inner ring carries a large number of equally spaced permanent magnets with their magnetic axis parallel to the crankshaft axis. The outer ring carries a single magnet. A first sensor transmits an electrical pulse once per revolution, and a second sensor can be adjusted by the screw to give the required ignition timing. For analogue operation the magnets are in the form of short strips mounted obliquely to the radius. |
