titleOfInvention PROCESS FOR DETACHING THE SMOKE GASES PRODUCED BY THE COMBUSTION OF MAGNESIUM BISULPHITE THICK LIQUID
abstract The magnesium oxide serves to neutralise the black liquor and keep in soln. the otherwise volatile org. acids which would be lost from the evaporators and which have a heat potential. The resulting slurry is settled out and the magnesium hydroxide fed to the SO2 absorbers to make digester liquor. The decanted neutralised black liquor is evaporated and incinerated to form the magnesium oxide which is then scrubbed out as above.
