abstract | Deodorant compsns. contain hydroxamic acid derivs., (I), as active ingredients, and auxiliary materials, including diluents, weighting materials, perfumes, surfactants etc. (I) have formula R-CONHOH (where R are alkyl, aryl, pyridyl or other functional gps.). The compsns are used to prevent offending excrement smell, e.g. in lavatory pits or drains, latrines, domestic animal or poultry farms, zoological gardens, drains, storage tanks of aircraft, trains ships, long-distance buses. (I) inhibit NH3 formation from excrements; smells are inhibited and not merely masked; activity is high and long-lasting; compsns. are safe to handle. Compsns. may be used as liquids, suspensions, powdered or solid compsns. Content of (I) may be 2-20 (5-20)%. |
