The construction of wire cables composed of parallel strands, to support heavy loads being transported in an overhead conveyor system, uses strands of 5-10 mm diameter which are laid in parallel the cable being clad with a corrosion protection mantle and the cable wound on a drum so that the strands maintain their parallel orientation. The system gives prefabricated parallel strands with protection against corrosion which are not distorted during drum winding, and which can be unwound on site for immediate use. |
