abstract In a plant for the manufacture of double glazing window panes, the two panes belonging to a pair are passed on a belt conveyor in the vertical position one after the other through a washing and drying station. The first pane of a pair is transferred transversely to a belt conveyor parallel to the first. A spacer frame is applied to the second pane and the assembly is turned through 180 degrees. The two panes of a pair are then brought to a position side-by-side and are joined to a double glazing pane. Both panes may be inspected simultaneously and plant is fully utilised.
