abstract | Title cpd is made from phosphorous (III) oxide, phosphoric acid and an acetylating agent, consisting of acetic acid and/or acetic anhydride, and characterized by the phosphorus (III) oxide and phosphoric acid, in molar ratios of 10:1 to 1:10 esp. 2:1 to 1:4, are mixed with acetic acid and acetic anhydride and reacted at a temp. 80-120 degrees C esp. 115 degrees C for 5 min. to 4 hrs. esp. 60 mins, to form partially condensed, partially acetylated ethane hydroxy phosphoric acid, the excess acetylating agent decomposed in a known manner, and by deacetylating at a pressure of 1-250 torr, esp. 10-80 torr, and temp. of 80-200 degrees C, esp. 160-180 degrees C the condensed AEHDP- acids, the acetylating agent was recovered and the condensed acid converted to the monomeric acid in a known manner. |
