Water-in-oil emulsifiers for cosmetic preparations consist of partial esters (I) of (a) aliphatic polyols contng. 2-6 OH gps. is molecule and (b) alpha-branched aliphatic monocarboxylic acids having general formula R-CH2-CH2-CHR-COOH (where R is a satd. mainly linear 4-24 (6-13)C hydrocarbyl, pref. C6H13). Pref. 50-90 (70-90)% OH gps. of polyol are esterified. The emulsifiers are used esp. in skin creams. (I) have low solidification and cloudiness points, are stable to oxidn., high temps., and storage; have no intrinsic odour; are smooth, supple, have no sticky feel and are easily absorbed by skin. Pref. cosmetics contain 0.5-15 (3-10) wt.% (I). |
