abstract | Two-phase cosmetics prepn. comprises a heavier halogenohydrocarbon phase, such as CH2Cl2, CCl3F, C2H2Cl2F2, C2Cl3F3, C2Cl2F4 etc. (30-70 wt.% w.r.t. the whole prepn.) and a lighter aq.-alcoholic phase contg. pref. 30-60 wt.% of ethanol, propanol or isopropanol (this phase pref. amts. to 65-20 wt.% w.r.t. the whole prepn.). Additives, which might react together causing unpleasant odour and/or discolouration, are kept separately in the two phases so that the prepn. has good storage stability. In partic., the halogenohydrocarbon phase contains a perfume, a skin-oiling agent and an emulsifier, whilst the aq. alcoholic phase contains acid substances (lactic, citric or tartaric acid, etc.). Before use, the prepn. must be shaken to produce a temporary emulsion; after some time, the two phases separate again. |
