| abstract | Poultry cage has a floor formed by a resilient sheet e.g. of cellular polyurethane, having a planar support surface which will compress under the weight of the poultry with a wear resistant layer, e.g. of burlap, secured to the resilient sheet to protect the resilient sheet against wear. The resilient sheet is on a support layer in register with the resilient layer, opposite the wear resistant layer, and a number of holes are provided through the layers to allow passage of droppings through the floor. The floor reduces the incidence of blisters on the keel bursa of poultry. |
