titleOfInvention PROCESS FOR THE PRODUCTION OF ALPHAHYDRATE PLASTER
abstract Gypsum waste from chemical industry, esp. the filter cake from the phosphoric acid prodn., is introduced without washing and still wet into a soln. contg. as dehydration agent 50-10% NH4NO3 and 5-40% HNO3 (the total nitrate content calculated as HNO3 is 30-50%) at 70-100 degrees C under atmospheric pressure. NH4NO3 promotes the growth of CaSO4.0.5H2O crystals so that suspensions contg. 30-40% of solids can be used and, consequently, the dimensions of the appts can be reduced. A very pure prod. is obtd.
