abstract |
L-Lysine oxygenase which catalyses the decarboxylation of L-lysine to 5-amino-valeramide is enriched and purified by fractionally treating a crude extract of a Pseudomonas fluorescens fermentation fraction with protamine sulphate. Pref., a first treatment is used to ppte. impurities, then L-lysine oxygenase is pptd. in pure form from the supernatant by adding further protamine sulphate. L-Lysine oxygenase can be used as a cytostatic agent against lysine-dependent tumours without harming the host organism, even though L-lysine is an essential amino acid. |
