Novel derivs. of formula (where R is H, C8H17 and/or C12H25, provided that two 8C residues or one 12C residue are/is present in the mol. and the 12C residue is linked to the N-atom) have biocidal activity, and are also used in combination with quat. ammonium cpds., to give storage-combination with quat. ammonium cpds., to gve storage-stable disinfectant solns. (I) may be prepd. by reaction of 3-aminopropanol with e.g. n-octyl or n-dodecyl chloride or bromide in molar ratio of 5:1 to 1:5 (pref. 4:1 to 1:1) in the presence of acid acceptors. |
