abstract The agents contain copolymers with (A) at least 25 wt. % structural units of a monomer with fluoralkyl grps., (B) 5-50 wt. % structural units of vinyl chloride and (C) structural units of a monomer of formula R1OOC-CH=CH-COOR2 (in which R1 and R2 are 1-18C alkyl). Pref. 0.01-0.5 mol. (C) is copolymerised per mol (B), and a fourth co-monomer may be used. Polymerisation may be in emulsion or solution, and the agent may be in the form of an aerosol contg. a soln. of the copolymer and a propellant. The compsns. are suitable for treating textile and other surfaces to give improved repellency to oil and esp. water, e.g. in dirt-repellent treatment of textiles.
