titleOfInvention | SYNERGISTIC WEED KILLER FOR RICE FIELDS |
abstract | Weed killer consists of a mixt. of alpha-(p-naphthoxy)-propionanilide (I) and a cpd of formula A-S-CO-NR1R2 (II) (where A is Et, iso-Pr, 1,2,3,4-tetrahydro-6-naphthylmethyl, or a Gp. X-O-CHY- in which O is p-phenylene, X is Cl, F, CH3, Et, n-Pr, iso-Pr, t-Bu, OCH3 or SCH3 and Y is H or CH3; and R1 and R2 are 1-3C alkyl or NR1R2 is hexamethyleneimino). The combination of (I) and (IIe has partic. high activity against annual and perennial weeds, even at relatively later stages of growth, and retains its herbicidal activity for a prolonged period so that plants developing after treatment are also affected. (I) is active against broadleaf weeds while (II) are active against monocotyledonous weeds, leading to very good synergism between the two cpds. |
