titleOfInvention | THERAPEUTIC INTRAUTERINE DEVICE |
abstract | Device comprises a solid matrix in which is dispersed a toxic-irritant or an anti-material or an antiamoebic agent and opt. an anti inflammatory agent, which agents are capable of diffusion from the surface of the matrix into the uterine mucosa at a rate wherein the device would be effective for a considerable period of time. The toxic irritant causes slight inflammation of the uterus walls with concomitant production of leucocytes which in turn contain in their cytoplasm substances which influence the implantation of the ovule and are toxic to the ovule contg. a blastocyst. The matrix may be silicone rubber or a solid support coated with the silicone. |
