The products are made by polymerising solvent-free or low solvent polymerisable masses in metal or plastics moulds which has a number of preformed capillaries in the fibres required in the finished prod. The mould can be made by spraying or casting originals such as signal mats, bruches, velvet, etc with low melting metal alloys, plastics materials such as ABS , polytetrafluoroethylene silicone rubber, etc. Prefd. polymerisable masses are activated alkaline catalysed lactam compsns which have very low melt viscosity to penetrate fine capillaries and which give formed polyamide materials in short polymerisation times or polyhydroxy cpd/polyisocyanate compsns to produce polyurethane prods. Useful for making carpets, conveyor belts furniture, decorative panels etc. |
