The separation of the microorganism from the purified water is facilitated as they settle together with iron hydroxide flocks in a sedimentation tank. The microorganisms can effectively remove small amounts of org. impurities. The aq. medium should be aerated. The pH is maintained at 4.5-6.5, pref. 5.5-6.5. |
