titleOfInvention | PROCESS FOR THE MANUFACTURING OF TERPOLYMERS BY GANGING MONOMERS ON PROTEIN MATERIALS |
abstract | Proteins are grafted with monomers using a monomer pair one component of which has Tg (for copolymer) 0 degree C and forms flexible side chains and the other component of which has Tg >0 degree C and forms more rigid side chains at 5-90 degrees C in aq. medium. The monomer ratio, which determines the flexibility of the prodt. terpolymer when moulded as film, is 2:1-10:1 and the total monomer to protein wt. ratio which also determines the mech. props. is 10-1000. Typical monomer pair is n-butylacrylate and acrylonitrile. |
