abstract Prodn. of an electrostatic copy by (a) introducing a length of continuous strip or pre-cut sheet of paper, (b) applying a coloured uniform film of photo-electric-conducting medium on the surface of the sheet, (c) electrically charging the photo-conducting medium in the dark to retain it on the sheet so long as this is in the dark, (d) exposure of the photo-conducting film to electromagnetic radiation to produce a latent image thereon by discharging the film on the image-free zones. (e) removing the image-free zones by a separation method in the dark to leave a visible image in the remaining zones, (f) fixing the image.
