titleOfInvention LYSINE SALT OF P-CHLOROPHENOXYISOBUTTER ACID, THEIR PRODUCTION, PREPARATION AND USE
abstract Title salt of formula (I) has the hypolipaemic activity of p-chlorophenoxyisobutyric acid (clofibric acid) with reduced toxicity and improved resorption and tolerance, cf clofibrate and clofibric acid. (I) is a stable, colourless and odourless substance which has no unpleasant bitter taste and is non-irritant to mucous membranes. (I) is prepd. by reacting equimolar proportions of lysine and clofibric acid. The reaction is advantageously carried out in water using a mineral acid salt of lysine and a salt of clofibric acid.
