abstract | Dyes have formula: (where A is opt. substd. benzene or naphthalene residue; Q is lower alkyl; R is opt. substd. lower alkyl or aralkyl; R1 is H, opt. substd. lower alkyl, aralkyl or aryl; Y is opt. branched 2-5 C alkylene; R2 and R3 are H, opt. substd. lower alkyl, aryl or aralkyl, or form together with the N atom a 5- or 6-membered heterocyclic ring; X- is an anion; benzene ring (a) opt. caries nonionogenic substits. or a condensed ring), and are used in inks, in offset printing and for dyeing and printing natural and (semi)synthetic fibres, including acid-modified fibres. Strong yellowish-red to bluish-red shades with good fastness are obtd. Dyes are prepd. e.g. by reacting corresp. neutral dye (where R and X- are absent) with an (ar)alkylating agent. |
