abstract Physically and chemically stable aspirin compn. comprises sodium, calcium, or magnesium acetylsalicylate and 2-15 (pref. 5) wt.% of an anionic exchange material selected from "Dowex 1, 2 or 3" (RTM's - by Dow Chemical Co.), "Amberlite IRA-400 or IR-46" (RTM's-by Rohm & Haas), Na86(AlO2)86(SiO2)106 and Na12(AlO2)12(SiO2)12 (both Union Carbide zeolites). In an example, the decompn. of variously stable batches of sodium acetyl salicylate after 1 yr's storage at room temp. was reduced to a max. of 4%.
