abstract A welding electrode comprising a hollow metal core filled with Fe powder, the core being an Ni base alloy is covered with a flux comprising =25 wt. % Ni powder, 4-18 wt. % Ni coated Mg, 18-47 wt. % alkali metal carbonates e.g. Ba, Ca or Sr, 6-18 wt. % deoxidants e.g. Fe alloys with Al, Si, Mn & Ti, =11 wt. % Fe powder, 2-13 wt. % Cu, 7 - 16 wt. % CaF2 or fluorspar, 4-24 wt. % carbon such as graphite, cellulose etc. and 1-6 wt. % kaolin.
