Non-gelling epoxy resins, dispersible in water, contain (a) >=1 1,2-epoxy gp (b) >=0.05% of chemically bonded N of which >=1% is present as a quaternary a ammonium base, pref. as a salt of boric acid esp. with other acids pref. lactic, with a dissociation content >10-5. The mixture pref. contains 2-ethylhexanol. The dispersions or mixtures are used for cathodic electrodeposition of coatings with high resistance to salt spray and other corrosive conditions. |
