abstract | Process as in BE 762467 for polymerising active H contg. monomers (I) such as alcohols, amines, aldehydes or (pref.) amides such as urea or biuret, wherein (a) (i) is reacted with ZR or Hf halide, (b) the resulting cpd. is hydrolysed, and (c) the hydrolysed product is oxidised with H2O2, or O2, before polymerisation the improvement of treating the hydrolysis product with an alkaline earth metal base instead of oxidation. Simplifies the process, without deleterious effects. |
