titleOfInvention USE OF ANTIPHLOGISTICA IN COSMETIC PREPARATIONS TO PREVENT SUNBURN AND / OR IMPROVE SKIN TAN
abstract Cosmetic preparations, not contg. sunscreening filters, contain antiphlogistics in smaller amts. than are usual in medicines in order to prevent sunburn and/or to improve browning of the skin. Antiphlogistics which can be used include pantothenic acid and its derivs., azulene and its derivs, and camilla extract. Since the preparations contain to UV filters, sunburn (instantaneously healed by the antiphlogistic)triggers off or accelerates melanin formation, giving rise to tanning to form a natural protection against further sunburn. The antiphlogistic also affords protection against burning by infra-red radiation, which is not the case with normal UV-filters.
