abstract |
High mol. wt. ammonium polyphosphate is mixed with 1.0-10% (pref. 2-3%) of Al2O3 and opt. with another oxide(s) and/or sulphide(s) of elements of gps. 2-4 (incl. subgroups) or subgps. 5-6 in the same quantity range, and subjecting the mixture to a thermal treatment in an enclosed space at 180-450 degrees C pref. 300 degrees C. By this treatment ammonium polyphosphate is stabilised to such an extent that it is not decomposed and does react with polymers when the latter are processed at elevated temps. |
