abstract | Pref. the bromine carrier is a complex of Br2 with a non-ionic, anionic or cationic surface active substance and the glycolether is diethylene glycolether, ethylene-blycol-n-butylether, propyleneglycol-butylether or tri-methylene glycolmethylether and the methoxypolyethylene glycols have a M.W. of ca 350-1000. Pref. the pre-mixtures contain =50 wt. % of 100% acid, the acid being HCl, HBr, phosphoric acid or acetic acid. The title mixtures when diluted are used as bactericides. Advantages are that the mixtures are more stable and they are miscible in all proportions with water. |
