titleOfInvention | Polyamides from 3,6-diamino carbazole - or its 9-methyl deriv with good elasticity and thermal stability |
abstract | The polyamides are derived from 3,6-diamino carbazole or its 9-methyl deriv. and dicarboxylic acids. Condensation pref. takes place in the melt at 150 degrees-250 degrees C using aliphatic acids e.g. adipic, sebacic, decamethylenic or heptadecamethylenic acids. The carbazoles are cheap materials readily available from coal tar. The polyamides are resins with m.pts. of 120 degrees-250 degrees C which can be drawn from the melt into fibres with good elastic properties. Introduction of carbazole units gives improved thermal stability. |
